Every November, Las Vegas hosts the two largest automotive aftermarket trade shows in the world simultaneously — AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo) at the Venetian Expo, and SEMA Show (Specialty Equipment Market Association) at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall. Together, they draw over 100,000 automotive industry professionals to Las Vegas in a single week, creating one of the most complex hotel planning challenges of the entire trade show calendar.
The two venues are approximately 3 miles apart — the Venetian Expo on the northern Strip and the LVCC South Hall near the middle of the convention complex. Which show you’re attending primarily determines where you should stay.
Best Hotels for AAPEX — Near the Venetian Expo
The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is the on-property option for AAPEX. Direct indoor access to the Venetian Expo eliminates commute time entirely. The Venetian’s restaurants and bars host dozens of official and unofficial AAPEX industry events throughout the week. Book 4-5 months in advance — the Venetian fills extremely quickly for AAPEX/SEMA week.
Palazzo at the Venetian is the all-suite premium option in the same complex. Shares all Venetian Expo access and amenities. Better suited for senior executives or those hosting client hospitality on-property.
Wynn Las Vegas and Encore are a 10-minute walk north along the Strip and are well-matched to the AAPEX audience profile — automotive executives, international buyers, and major brand leadership. Wynn’s restaurant selection is among the best on the Strip for client dinners.
Best Hotels for SEMA — Near the LVCC
Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino is directly across from the LVCC — ideal for SEMA attendees whose sessions are concentrated in the South Hall. The LVCC South Hall is the furthest from the main convention center entrance, making proximity particularly valuable for the multi-day show.
Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel connects to the LVCC via skybridge — non-gaming, business-focused, and directly accessible to the show floor. A strong choice for SEMA exhibitors who need reliable early morning access.
Resorts World Las Vegas provides Vegas Loop access to the LVCC and is well-positioned for attendees who split time between SEMA and the Strip during the week.
Splitting Time Between AAPEX and SEMA
Many automotive industry professionals attend both shows during the same week. For attendees splitting time between the Venetian Expo and LVCC, a mid-Strip location — ARIA, Cosmopolitan, or Park MGM — offers reasonable rideshare access to both venues. The Vegas Loop also connects the Venetian area to the LVCC during show hours, providing an alternative to surface rideshare.
Rideshare surge pricing during AAPEX/SEMA week is among the highest of any Las Vegas trade show week. Budget for $25-45 per rideshare trip between the two venues during peak hours, or allow 20-30 minutes for Loop + walking combinations.
November Booking Timeline for AAPEX/SEMA
AAPEX and SEMA week is one of the three most heavily booked weeks of the Las Vegas trade show calendar (alongside CES/IBS in January and CONEXPO in March of its years). Book by June for Venetian and LVCC-adjacent properties. Mid-Strip properties fill by August.
