Las Vegas Trade Show Guide

VMware Explore 2027 Hotels: Resorts World Las Vegas Guide (May 3–6)

Quick answer: VMware Explore 2027 runs May 3–6, 2027 at Resorts World Las Vegas, not at the Venetian where the 2026 edition was held. The easiest choice is to stay on-site at one of Resorts World’s three hotels; if you stay elsewhere, plan your route around the Vegas Loop.

This guide was written on October 1, 2026, right after the venue change was announced. Hotel block details for 2027 have not been published yet, so we point you to the official source rather than guess.

What the move to Resorts World changes for your hotel

Organizers say the new venue offers shorter walks between hotel rooms, session halls and networking areas, plus direct access to the Vegas Loop. In practice, that makes staying on-site more attractive than it was at the Venetian. The move to May also takes the show out of the August heat the previous editions ran into.

Option 1: stay on-site at Resorts World

Resorts World is one property with three hotel brands and about 3,500 rooms across 66 floors, according to the resort:

  • Hilton Las Vegas — 1,774 rooms
  • Conrad Las Vegas — 1,496 rooms
  • Crockfords Las Vegas — the ultra-luxury brand (rooms, suites, villas and palaces)

Staying here removes the daily commute to the sessions. Resort fees and rates for May 2027 are not published yet; check the final price, fees included, before you book.

Option 2: stay elsewhere and use the Vegas Loop

Resorts World is one of the paid Vegas Loop stations, alongside Encore and Westgate. If you book off-site, check on the official Loop site whether your hotel is near a station, and compare the total cost against an on-site room. Our Vegas Loop guide for trade show attendees explains how the system works. Always check lvloop.com for current routes, hours and fares.

When to book

Registration opens January 12, 2027, and the official site is the place to look for any attendee hotel offer. Because rates are not published yet, the practical approach is to compare live prices once you have your dates, and favor a cancellable rate you can rebook if prices drop.

Option 3: stay within walking distance of Resorts World

Resorts World sits on the north end of the Strip, where the neighbours are fewer but closer together than people expect. The distances below are straight-line figures from map coordinates with a walking allowance added; real times depend on which tower entrance you use and on the Strip’s pedestrian bridges, so treat them as a guide rather than a promise.

  • Circus Circus (2880 S Las Vegas Blvd), about 500 m north: the closest neighbour and usually the cheapest bed on this stretch. Rooms are basic, so it suits delegates who only need somewhere to sleep between labs and want to keep the budget for certification exams. Check Circus Circus rates on Hotels.com.
  • Encore at Wynn (3121 S Las Vegas Blvd), about 600 m south across the Strip: the natural upgrade if Resorts World is full. Encore also has its own paid Vegas Loop station, so you can ride rather than walk on a hot afternoon. Clark County approved a pedestrian bridge linking Resorts World diagonally to the Wynn side in December 2023; check its status before you count on it. Compare Encore and Wynn on Booking.com.
  • Fontainebleau (2777 S Las Vegas Blvd), about 800 m north-east: the newest tower on the Strip, and it has a free Vegas Loop station of its own, which makes it a comfortable off-site base for a team that wants to split evenings between the two resorts.
  • Wynn Las Vegas (3131 S Las Vegas Blvd), about 1 km south: same owner as Encore, a slightly longer walk, same Loop station.
  • Sahara (2535 S Las Vegas Blvd), about 1.3 km north: a 20-minute walk or a short rideshare, often priced well below the Wynn side. It also sits on the Las Vegas Monorail, which does not serve Resorts World but is useful if your week includes meetings further down the Strip.

Whichever you pick, add the resort fee to the nightly rate before comparing. Our guide to Las Vegas resort fees explains what they cover and when they can be waived.

Getting from Harry Reid airport to Resorts World

Resorts World is roughly 6 km north of the airport terminals, further than the Mandalay Bay end of the Strip but still a short ride. Four options, from simplest to cheapest:

  • Taxi or rideshare: 15 to 25 minutes depending on Strip traffic. Rideshare pick-up at Harry Reid is from the parking garages, not the kerb; follow the signs from baggage claim.
  • Pre-booked private transfer: worth it if you land late or travel with colleagues and equipment, because the driver waits in arrivals and the price is fixed. Book a Las Vegas airport transfer.
  • Vegas Loop: as of mid-2026 the Loop runs airport rides from the Resorts World station to the departures kerb only (roughly 12 dollars, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.), with pick-ups from the airport announced but not yet live when this guide was updated. Useful for the trip home; check our Vegas Loop guide and the official Loop site for the current state before you rely on it for arrival.
  • RTC bus: the cheapest route, with a change downtown or on the Strip; budget an hour. Our airport transport guide compares all the options with current fares.

Evenings without leaving the resort

Four days of labs and sessions end at the same address every night, so it helps to know what Resorts World holds. According to the resort’s own dining listings, the choice runs from a food hall to a steakhouse:

  • Famous Foods Street Eats: a Southeast-Asian-leaning food hall with around fifteen counters (ramen, dumplings, Singapore claypot rice, Nashville hot chicken, Texas barbecue). The quickest dinner for a group that cannot agree, and the Here Kitty Kitty speakeasy is hidden inside it.
  • Team dinners: Carversteak (steakhouse), Brezza (coastal Italian), Genting Palace (Chinese), Kusa Nori (modern Japanese) and Wally’s (restaurant, wine bar and gourmet market) cover most client-dinner briefs. Book ahead for the first two nights of the show.
  • A drink after the last session: Allē Lounge on 66, on the top floor, and Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge are the two to know. Zouk Nightclub and the AYU Dayclub are on site too, which matters mostly because they can fill the lobby late on weekend nights.

Updated 11 October 2026: added walking-distance hotels, airport options and on-site dining. Distances are map estimates; dining and Loop details come from the resort’s and the operator’s own pages and can change before May 2027.
