AWS re:Invent 2026 Hotel Prices, 55 Days Out: Strip South Is Already Moving

venetian-hotel-las-vegas-night

Quick answer: With 55 days to go before AWS re:Invent 2026 (December 1–5 at The Venetian), LVT Price Watch is already tracking a +6.2% rise on the same 15 hotels compared to 9 days ago. The Strip South corridor — Flamingo, Park MGM, New York-New York — is leading the move. Average nightly rate on tracked hotels: $145, vs. a $103 February baseline. If you haven’t booked yet, the window is closing.

What LVT Price Watch Tracks for AWS re:Invent

AWS re:Invent draws over 60,000 attendees to Las Vegas every December — the largest cloud computing conference in the world. It fills The Venetian Expo, Mandalay Bay, Caesars Forum, MGM Grand, and Wynn simultaneously. That scale puts real pressure on Strip hotels, and it shows up in the data weeks before the event.

LVT Price Watch tracks nightly rates twice a week (Monday and Thursday at 6 AM) using real consumer prices from Google Hotels — what you’d actually pay as an attendee, taxes and resort fees included. This is not ADR data from LVCVA, which comes out months after the fact. This is the price you see when you search today.

The Numbers: J-63 to J-55 (September 27 → October 5, 2026)

On the 15 hotels present in both snapshots:

HotelSep 27 (J-63)Oct 5 (J-55)Change
Park MGM Las Vegas$168$227+35%
Hilton Grand Vacations (Strip)$209$211+1%
W Las Vegas$217$198−9%
Flamingo Las Vegas$118$192+63%
New York-New York$151$172+14%
Mandalay Bay$172$168−2%
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas$138$131−5%
SAHARA Las Vegas$139$126−9%
Club Wyndham Grand Desert$114$113−1%
Rio Hotel & Casino$105$109+4%
Circus Circus$94$90−4%
The STRAT$91$90−1%
OYO Hotel and Casino$89$890%
Luxor Hotel & Casino$78$87+12%
Excalibur Hotel & Casino$79$86+9%

Average (15 hotels): $136 → $145 = +6.2% in 8 days. The spread is wide: Flamingo +63%, Park MGM +35% vs. SAHARA −9%, W −9%. This is not a uniform market move — it’s Strip South demand coming in first, which is exactly the AWS re:Invent pattern (conference rooms cluster at MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, and Park MGM end of the Strip).

Context: +40% Above the Off-Season Baseline

LVT Price Watch tracks a baseline week in February 2027 with no major convention — the closest thing Vegas has to a quiet week. That baseline currently sits at $103/night on the same sample. At $145, AWS re:Invent hotels are running 40% above baseline at J-55.

For context, CES 2027 at J-92 is at $142 — nearly identical. AWS re:Invent is smaller than CES (60K vs. 140K attendees) but its venues are concentrated on one end of the Strip, which creates localized pressure rather than city-wide tension. The data reflects that: economy properties (OYO, Excalibur, Circus Circus) are barely moving, while the mid-Strip corridor is already accelerating.

When to Book for AWS re:Invent 2026

Based on the trajectory so far, here’s what the data suggests:

  • Book now if you want Strip South (Park MGM, Flamingo, NYNY area) — these are already moving fast and the +35/+63% jumps suggest demand is coming in, not receding.
  • North Strip and off-Strip properties still have room — SAHARA, Virgin, STRAT, Club Wyndham are flat or slightly down. These won’t stay that way through November.
  • The $86–90 tier (Luxor, Excalibur, Circus Circus) is your last affordable option — and it’s starting to move (+9–12%).

LVT Price Watch will update this data twice a week through the event. The next snapshot is Thursday, October 9.

Methodology

All prices are consumer-facing nightly rates (taxes + resort fees included) captured via SerpApi’s Google Hotels engine. Snapshots taken twice weekly. “Same hotels” comparisons use a stable hotel token to track identical properties across dates — eliminating the sample-mix distortions that make raw averages misleading. Raw averages are provided for context but conclusions are always drawn from same-hotel series.
