48 days before the 2026 Las Vegas Grand Prix (November 19–21), the raw average hotel price for race weekend fell from $143 to $137 a night. On the same 16 hotels, it rose 4.4%, from $124.90 to $130.30. The increase is concentrated on the Strip: mid-Strip and south-Strip hotels added $12 to $21 a night in four days, while north-Strip and off-Strip properties stayed flat or slipped. Data: LVT Price Watch, September 27 and October 1, 2026.
If you looked at the headline number this week, you would conclude that Las Vegas hotel prices for the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix are softening. Our raw average across the hotels Google returned for race weekend dropped from $143 a night on September 27 to $137 on October 1. That is the number a quick survey would print.
It is wrong, and the reason is instructive. Two of the pricier hotels in the September 27 list did not appear in the October 1 list, so the sample shrank from 20 properties to 18 and its average fell. Nothing about the market had softened. When we compare only the 16 hotels present in both readings, race weekend got 4.4% more expensive in four days.

Where the money is moving: the Strip, and only the Strip
Read the table by area and a pattern appears that an average would hide. The circuit runs along Las Vegas Boulevard, and the hotels on and around that stretch are the ones repricing: The LINQ added $21, Harrah’s $13, Flamingo and Horseshoe $12 each. At the south end, New York-New York added $16, and even the budget pair Luxor and Excalibur added $13 apiece.
Move north or off the Boulevard and the movement stops. SAHARA and Treasure Island lost $7 to $8. The STRAT, Circus Circus, Silver Sevens, OYO, Rio and Palace Station moved by two dollars or less. Seven weeks out, Formula 1 demand is a Strip phenomenon. It has not yet reached the rest of the city.
That is the opposite of what we see for CES, which lifts prices from the convention center to the airport. It is closer to what we see for SHOT Show and World of Concrete: a large event that fills its own neighborhood and leaves bargains two miles away.
What race weekend costs against a quiet week
Our reference point is a quiet week in February 2027 with no major event, which listed at $105 a night on October 1. The 16 race-weekend hotels averaged $130.30, a premium of about 24%. For a Thursday-to-Sunday stay that is roughly $75 more than the same rooms in a dead week.
Two cautions. First, this sample is weighted toward three- and four-star hotels; the five-star resorts along the circuit price on a different scale, and our F1 hotel guide covers what the 2025 weekend looked like at that level. Second, 48 days is still early in the F1 booking cycle. The hotels moving now are moving on a few dollars; the question is whether the north and off-Strip tiers follow in the final month.
What this means if you are booking for F1 weekend
If you want to be on the circuit, the clock has started. The mid-Strip tier is adding $12 to $21 a night per reading. A refundable rate at the LINQ, Flamingo, Harrah’s or Horseshoe booked today protects you against the next step; you can always rebook lower if it comes.
If you are in town for a trade show that week, stay off the Boulevard. Several November conventions share the calendar with the race. At $79 to $90 a night, Palace Station, Rio, OYO and Silver Sevens have not moved at all and are a short ride from the convention center. The trade show calendar shows what overlaps.
Do not read a falling average as a falling market. The $143-to-$137 drop was an artifact of which hotels Google chose to show. On identical rooms, every area of the Strip went up. We will publish the next reading at the 30-day mark and track whether the increase spreads north.

How we measured this
LVT Price Watch records, every Monday and Thursday, the all-in nightly price Google Hotels displays for a stay covering the event dates, for the hotels Google returns for that search. Each property is tracked by a stable identifier, so the figures above compare the same rooms at the same hotels across readings. We do not publish movements in raw averages, because the sample Google returns changes from one reading to the next; this article is a worked example of why. Public benchmarks for the whole year are on the Las Vegas Hotel Price Index.
Frequently asked questions
When is the 2026 Las Vegas Grand Prix?
November 19–21, 2026, according to the official Las Vegas Grand Prix site. The circuit runs along Las Vegas Boulevard through the center of the Strip.
Are hotel prices for F1 weekend going up or down?
Up. On the same 16 hotels, the all-in nightly average rose 4.4% between September 27 and October 1, 2026, from $124.90 to $130.30. The raw average fell over the same period only because the sample of hotels changed.
Where are the cheapest hotels for F1 weekend?
Off the Strip. On October 1, Palace Station, Rio, OYO and Silver Sevens listed at $79 to $90 a night all-in for race weekend and had not moved in four days. Hotels on the circuit were rising.
Also at the Grand Prix: the F1 Business Summit takes place on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, two days before the race, with a session by Gordon Ramsay on the business of hospitality.
How We Research and Verify This Guide
LasVegasTrade.com is an independent resource. We are not owned by any hotel, casino, or booking platform, and no venue pays to be featured.
Event details. Dates and venues are verified against each event’s official website before publication, never copied from other blogs. When a detail can change, such as pricing, we say so and point to the official source.
Hotel rates. We run LVT Price Watch, our own tracker that records real advertised nightly rates from major booking platforms twice a week ahead of each major Las Vegas event. This lets us show how prices actually move as a date approaches, instead of repeating generic estimates.
How we make money. Some links on this page are affiliate links. If you book through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes which hotels we recommend or the rate you pay.
