Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) Complete Guide 2026: Halls, Transport and Tips for Trade Show Pros

CES 2027 Las Vegas Convention Center hotel guide for international attendees
Quick Answer

The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) is North America’s largest trade show venue — about 4.6 million square feet across four interconnected halls (North, Central, South, and the newer West Hall). It hosts the biggest shows in the world: CES, NAB, SEMA, World of Concrete, MAGIC, and CONEXPO.

Getting there and staying close: the LVCC sits about 4 miles from Harry Reid International Airport, and the underground Vegas Loop (Tesla tunnel) connects all halls โ€” with 123 approved stations across the resort corridor as of 2026. The closest hotels — Westgate (pedestrian walkway), the Renaissance, and the Paradise Road Marriotts — are a 3–10 minute walk and are in high demand months ahead for CES and SEMA.

Looking at the Westgate? It is one of the closest hotels to the LVCC. Book the Westgate direct on its official site (or compare on VEGAS.com), or compare hotels near the convention center. Rates change daily, so check current prices before you book.

The 4 Halls of LVCC Explained

West Hall — The Newest and Most Tech-Forward

Opened in June 2021, West Hall is LVCC’s newest and most architecturally striking addition. It features 1.4 million sq ft of leasable space, including 600,000 sq ft of exhibit space, 328,000 sq ft of it column-free — one of the largest such floors in North America. The hall is famous for its dramatic curving facade and serves as the main entrance to the underground Vegas Loop (Boring Company tunnel system) that connects all halls.

Hosts: CES tech showcases, NAB Show keynotes, World of Concrete (the first show held in the new West Hall, June 2021).

North Hall — The Original Powerhouse

The North Hall offers about 409,000 sq ft of exhibit space (LVCVA figure) and is one of the original sections of LVCC. It’s known for hosting heavy industry trade shows like World of Concrete and the equipment-heavy zones of CONEXPO-CON/AGG. The North Hall connects directly to Central Hall via internal corridors.

Central Hall — The Connector

With about 623,000 sq ft of exhibit space, the Central Hall serves as the geographic and logistical hub of LVCC. Most major trade shows use Central Hall as their main exhibition floor due to its central location and excellent access to meeting rooms, food courts, and registration areas.

South Hall — Multi-Level Versatility

The South Hall offers about 820,000 sq ft of exhibit space across two levels — the only hall whose exhibit floors are split over two levels. The upper level is favored for high-density product showcases, while the lower level handles larger booth installations. The South Hall and the Central Hall both have covered walkways to the Las Vegas Monorail’s LVCC station.

Major Trade Shows Hosted at LVCC

  • CES (January) — World’s largest consumer electronics trade show, 148,000+ participants (2026 audit)
  • World of Concrete (January) — Construction industry’s premier event
  • NAB Show (April) — Broadcasting, media, and entertainment technology
  • CONEXPO-CON/AGG (March, every 3 years) — North America’s largest construction trade show
  • SEMA Show (November) — Specialty automotive parts and accessories
  • MAGIC (February/August) — Fashion and apparel sourcing
  • National Hardware Show (March) — Hardware and home improvement

Getting to LVCC: Transport Options

From Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)

LVCC is just 4 miles from the airport. Your options:

  • Taxi: flat zone fare, no surge pricing. LVCC sits in Zone 3, about $30 according to Las Vegas Advisor. Check the current rate with the Nevada Taxicab Authority. About 10 to 15 minutes
  • Uber/Lyft: fares change with demand and surge at peak arrival times, so check the app before you commit
  • Rental Car: Ideal if you need flexibility — compare rates with Carla
  • Hotel Shuttle: Some hotels run show-week shuttles, so check the show’s official transportation page

Group & Charter Bus Transport

If you are coordinating a corporate delegation or exhibitor team, a private charter bus keeps everyone together and drops your group at the LVCC’s designated bus zones — avoiding rideshare surge pricing and the parking scramble during peak convention weeks. For drop-off zones, vehicle sizing and convention-week timing, see this detailed guide to renting a bus to the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The Vegas Loop (Boring Company Tunnels)

LVCC features its own underground transportation system — the Vegas Loop. Tesla vehicles transport attendees between the West, Central and South Halls through five on-campus stations (West, Riviera, Central Underground, Central Plaza and South). The system is included with your event badge and dramatically reduces walking time between halls.

Beyond the campus (October 2026): the Loop now also runs paid rides (about $5, check the official ticket page) to five Strip resorts: Resorts World, Westgate, Encore, Fontainebleau and Sahara, 7 AM to 9 PM with extended convention hours. Two more stations, at Virgin Hotels and opposite UNLVโ€™s Thomas & Mack Center, are targeted to open before the F1 Grand Prix in November. Full details and booking steps in our LVCC transport guide.

Las Vegas Monorail

The Las Vegas Monorail’s Boingo Station sits at Paradise Road and Desert Inn Road, with covered walkways into the Central/North Halls and the South Hall, and offers a fast, traffic-free connection to Strip hotels including MGM Grand, Horseshoe (formerly Bally’s), Flamingo, Harrah’s, Westgate and SAHARA. Bought online, a single ride is $5.75 and a 24-hour pass is $13.95 (official Monorail ticket site, October 2026), and multi-day passes offer significant savings for trade show attendees.

Method: shortest mapped outdoor walking route from the hotel to the nearest convention-center entrance, computed with OpenStreetMap pedestrian routing (OSRM foot profile, FOSSGIS) on October 22, 2026, at the router pace of about 2.8 mph. Distances rounded up to 0.1 mile, times rounded up to the minute. Time inside casinos and exhibit halls is not included, so read these as minimums: add the walk from your room to the hotel door and from the hall entrance to your booth. Hotels are routed from the building center, except Westgate, Virgin and Caesars Palace, which start at their main entrance. The South Hall has no mapped public entrance yet, so South Hall figures are not shown.

Exhibitor Essentials

  • Loading Docks: Each hall has dedicated freight entrances. Coordinate move-in/move-out with your official show contractor.
  • Internet & AV: LVCC provides wired/wireless services through Cox Business. Pre-order to avoid show-floor pricing.
  • Booth Services: Use the show’s official contractor for electrical, rigging, and labor — third-party labor must be cleared in advance.
  • Storage: Limited on-site storage; plan empty crate management with your contractor.
  • Lead Capture: Most major shows require LVCC-approved lead retrieval systems — rent through the show organizer.

Attendee Pro Tips

  • Pre-register online — Skip onsite lines that can take 1+ hours during major shows.
  • Wear comfortable shoes — Expect 15,000+ steps per day on concrete floors.
  • Bring a power bank — Outlets are scarce on the show floor.
  • Book restaurants in advance — Every quality restaurant near LVCC fills up during show weeks.
  • Use the LVCC official app — Real-time hall maps, exhibitor lookup, and shuttle schedules.
  • Plan your hall route — Walking from West Hall to South Hall takes 20+ minutes. Use the Vegas Loop instead.

After the Show: Things to Do in Las Vegas

After a long day on the show floor, Las Vegas offers world-class entertainment, dining, and experiences. Many exhibitors and attendees use evenings for client dinners, networking events, or simply unwinding. Here are our top picks for activities and tours:

A Day at the LVCC: What It Actually Feels Like

The first thing that hits you at the Las Vegas Convention Center is the scale. Walk in on the opening morning of a big show like CES or SEMA and you are one of tens of thousands of people moving through a 4.6-million-square-foot campus that stretches farther than the eye can follow. Badge lanyards everywhere, coffee in hand, the low roar of thousands of conversations. It can be overwhelming the first time, and much easier once you know the rhythm.

Here is the rhythm worth knowing. Mornings are best for the booths and keynotes you actually came to see, before the aisles get crowded toward midday. Midday is the busiest stretch, so it is a good time to step out for a proper lunch rather than queue at the in-hall concessions. Late afternoon tends to thin out as people move toward meetings and evening events. If you front-load your must-see stops early and save follow-ups for later in the day, you will cover more ground with less waiting.

LVCC Logistics: Parking, Food, and Getting Around

The practical details are what separate a smooth trip from a frustrating one, and they are rarely spelled out in the official show guide. Here is what actually matters day to day.

Parking. The LVCC uses a ring of color-coded surface lots (Diamond, Silver, Platinum, Bronze, Blue, Orange and White — about 5,300 spaces in total; Diamond is the lot beside the West Hall). Standard parking runs $15 per day with same-day in-and-out, and the lots are cashless, so bring a card. Overnight parking is not permitted. The single most useful thing to know before you drive: the right lot depends entirely on which hall your show is in, because parking on the wrong side can mean a 25-minute walk across the campus. During the biggest shows like CES, on-site lots can be full or closed to the public entirely, so reserving a space ahead or skipping the car altogether is often the smarter move.

What a show day really costs (checked October 2026)

  • Monorail: $6.25 per ride, $15.50 for a 1-day pass ($5.75 and $13.95 as mobile eTickets). Source: Las Vegas Monorail.
  • LVCC parking: $15 per day at AHR Expo 2026, first come, first served. Rates can vary by show, so check your show’s parking page.
  • Hotel taxes and resort fees: add the 13.38% Strip room tax plus a resort fee of roughly $44 to $57 per night to the rate you see first. Source: LVT Price Watch readings.
  • Show-floor food: a trade press editor reported a $38 sandwich on the IMEX America 2026 show floor. Plan lunch outside or book a table ahead.

Getting between halls. The campus is genuinely large, and walking end to end can take 15 to 25 minutes. The underground Vegas Loop, built by The Boring Company, moves you between the West, Central and South Halls in Teslas in a couple of minutes, and it is free within the campus. One handy detail: Resorts World has its own Vegas Loop station, with paid rides ($4.25 one way, $7 round trip per Las Vegas Advisor) straight to the LVCC campus, which makes it a flexible base if you are driving in.

Food and coffee. The in-hall concessions work in a pinch, but lines at noon are long and prices are steep. For a real break, the hotels along Paradise Road (Westgate, the Renaissance) have quieter cafes and bars a short walk away, which also make better spots for a one-on-one conversation than a crowded booth. If you need to take a call, move toward the perimeter of a hall or into a connecting corridor, where the noise drops enough to hear.

Evenings. The LVCC sits just off the Strip, so client dinners and after-hours networking are never far. Book restaurant reservations well ahead during a big show, because the good tables near the convention center fill quickly when tens of thousands of attendees are all looking for dinner at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is LVCC walkable from the Las Vegas Strip?

LVCC is technically 0.5 miles east of the Strip, but it’s not a pleasant walk (hot weather, busy roads, no shaded paths). The Las Vegas Monorail provides a much faster and more comfortable option from major Strip hotels to the LVCC station, which has covered walkways to the South and Central Halls.

How early should I book hotels for major LVCC trade shows?

For CES, NAB Show, and SEMA, book at least 6 months in advance — preferably 9 to 12 months. Prices for nearby hotels climb well above a normal week during peak shows (CES week was 39% above a quiet February week 100 days out, in our September 27, 2026 Price Watch), and the closest properties are in the highest demand.

Does LVCC have parking?

Yes, LVCC offers paid surface parking lots (about 5,300 spaces; there is no parking garage). The standard rate is $15 per day, cashless, with no overnight parking. For most attendees, rideshare or the Monorail is more cost-effective than driving and parking.

Is the Vegas Loop free?

Yes, between the LVCC stations: rides on the campus loop are free (Las Vegas Advisor, June 2026). Rides to stations outside the campus, such as Resorts World, Westgate or Encore, are paid. Check the current fare on the official Vegas Loop site before you go.

What’s the best hall for first-time CES attendees?

Start at Central Hall (main brand exhibits) and West Hall (mobility and emerging tech). Use the Vegas Loop to move between halls efficiently. Plan at least 3 full days to cover the major exhibits.

How We Research and Verify This Guide

LasVegasTrade.com is an independent resource. We are not owned by any hotel, casino, or booking platform, and no venue pays to be featured.

Show details. Dates, venues, and hours are verified against each event’s official website before publication, never copied from other blogs. When a detail can change, such as pricing, we say so and point to the official source.

Hotel rates. We run LVT Price Watch, our own tracker that records real advertised nightly rates from major booking platforms twice a week ahead of each major Las Vegas convention. This lets us show how prices actually move as a show approaches, instead of repeating generic estimates.

Distances and logistics. Walk times to the LVCC, Venetian Expo, and Mandalay Bay, plus Monorail and Vegas Loop access, are checked against mapping tools and official venue information.

How we make money. Some links on this page are affiliate links. If you book through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes which hotels we recommend or the rate you pay. Our picks are based on location, value, and suitability for trade show attendees.
