Las Vegas convention hotels operate on dynamic pricing tied to show demand. Baseline ADR: $157/night (LVCVA, July 2026). During Tier 1 shows (CES, SEMA, NAB): Check live rates on Strip. The critical booking window is J-60 to J-30 – after J-30, on-site inventory is algorithmically priced at +65% to +140% premium. The 4 main venues are LVCC, Venetian Expo, Mandalay Bay, and Caesars Forum – each with distinct hotel ecosystems.

Compare hotels & book→October 2026 update: the LVCVA launched The Vegas Effect, a marketing platform aimed at meeting planners, citing 6 million convention attendees and $17.1 billion in regional economic output in 2025, about 150,000 hotel rooms and nearly 15 million square feet of meeting space. Convention attendance is up 10.5% year to date even as leisure visitation softens, which is why show weeks keep pricing above the city average. Source: LVCVA release, October 15, 2026.
How Las Vegas Convention Hotel Pricing Actually Works
Las Vegas has 150,000+ hotel rooms – the largest concentration of hotel inventory in North America. Yet during the city’s 28+ major annual trade shows, rooms near the venues sell out weeks in advance and rates climb well above a normal week. Understanding why requires looking at how hotels manage inventory during citywide events.
86% of Las Vegas hotels now use AI-powered revenue management systems (Otelciro, 2026). These systems monitor booking pace in real time and trigger rate increases automatically when demand signals cross predefined thresholds. The result: rates climb sharply for the biggest shows. Our Price Watch measured CES 2027 week at $145 a night on average (all-in) 100 days out, about 39% above a quiet February week, and prices usually rise from there – not because of manual price-setting, but because an algorithm detected that 148,000+ attendees are converging on the same week.
The AI forecasting accuracy at J-30 is 96% (Hotel Technology News). This means hotels know with near-certainty what their final occupancy will be one month out – and price accordingly. By the time most trade show attendees think about booking, the algorithm has already set rates at peak levels.
The 4 Main Vegas Convention Venues and Their Hotel Ecosystems
1. Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC)

2026-2027 Compression Calendar: The Highest-Pressure Weeks
These are the weeks when multiple major shows overlap, creating the most acute hotel compression in Las Vegas:
- September 28 – October 1, 2026: G2E (Venetian, 29,000) + PACK EXPO (LVCC, 30,000) simultaneously. Dual-venue compression. Full compression guide
- October 20-25, 2026: HR Tech (Mandalay Bay) + FABTECH (LVCC) + SuiteWorld (Caesars Forum) – triple venue compression.
- November 3-7, 2026: SEMA + AAPEX (SEMA alone drew 153,000+ in 2025, LVCC + Venetian Expo). Highest single-week pressure of autumn.
- December 3-12, 2026: NFR + Cowboy Christmas (175,000+ total NFR attendance). Strip hotels run well above normal rates.
- January 6-9, 2027: CES (148,000+). One of the most expensive hotel weeks of the year.
The Off-Strip Strategy: Save 30-50%
For every major Las Vegas convention, there are off-Strip options that offer 30-50% savings with acceptable commute times. Key options:
- Rio Las Vegas – Phase one of a $340M renovation completed in November 2024, when Rio joined Destination by Hyatt. 1.5 miles from LVCC and Venetian. Usually cheaper than the Strip during show weeks; check live rates. Rio convention guide
- Tuscany Suites – All-suite, 0.5 miles from LVCC on Flamingo. No resort fee.
- Residence Inn Convention Center – Extended stay, kitchen suites. Walkable to LVCC.
